1. Who We Are
Giggie ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application for gig economy delivery workers, operated by Giggie LLC. For questions about this policy, contact us at info@giggie.app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Vehicle information: make, model, fuel efficiency, and cost inputs you enter manually
- Earnings and expense entries you log manually within the app
- Income goals and financial targets you set
Information collected automatically
- Location data — only when you start an active shift, to track mileage automatically. We do not collect location data when a shift is not running.
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and performance monitoring.
Information from third-party connections (optional)
- Bank account data via Plaid — if you choose to connect your bank, we access transaction data only to detect deposits from gig platforms. We do not store your bank credentials.
- Email data — if you connect your email account, we read only earnings-related emails from gig platforms to auto-import your earnings. We do not read, store, or process any other emails.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To calculate and display your real profit, costs, and earnings history
- To generate tax estimates and mileage deduction summaries
- To send you notifications you have opted into (weekly digest, tax reminders, maintenance alerts)
- To show you nearby gas prices using your device location
- To track mileage during active shifts using background location
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
We do not use your financial data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your data to any third party.
4. Location Data
Giggie requests background location permission specifically and only to track mileage during an active gig shift. Location tracking begins when you tap "Start Shift" and ends when you tap "End Shift." We do not track your location at any other time. Location data is used solely to calculate miles driven. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, which will disable automatic mileage tracking.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Supabase-managed servers hosted on AWS in the United States. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. All data at rest is encrypted. Access to your data is restricted by Row Level Security — only your account can read or modify your data.
6. Third-Party Services
Giggie integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Privacy Policy

- Google Maps Platform — gas station locations and prices. Privacy Policy
- Google Cloud Vision — screenshot OCR for earnings import (optional). Images are processed and immediately discarded.
- Expo / EAS — app delivery and push notifications. Privacy Policy
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access: You can view all your data within the app at any time
- Correction: You can edit any entry you have logged
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
- Export: Premium users can export all their data as a CSV or PDF from the Insights screen
- Opt out of notifications: All push notifications can be disabled in Settings → Notifications or in your device settings
- Disconnect bank/email: You can disconnect your bank account or email connection at any time in Settings → Data Sync
8. Children's Privacy
Giggie is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@giggie.app and we will delete it promptly.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of their personal information, and opt out of the sale of their personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@giggie.app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of Giggie after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
